Antropoceno e a Consciência Artística Global: Do Paleolítico à Sabedoria Ancestral da Floresta Amazônica

The arts play a decisive role in the debates about the Anthropocene: they reveal an awareness of yet another human-caused crisis, laying bare the disappointment with the civilizational order. Palaeolithic art already brought a humble and grateful awareness of the human in the face of the grandeur of animals and nature. In the contemporary world, art that receives an indigenous and shamanistic influence, with a language that, more than bringing up issues such as destruction and extinction, offers a dimension of beauty and harmony with the cosmos, a hope of opening to a truly humanized consciousness, exercises a conscious critique of the Anthropocene. Witness to this phenomenon is the global popularization of ayahuasca, which from the forests of Latin America to the great centers of Europe and North America has inspired many artists, providing an artistic-political debate that places ecology, cosmic harmony, and cultural plurality in relation.
