Abstract

Climate change represents a challenge for industries and governments, given the degradation of the environment and exploitation of its resources. Eco-innovation is a new concept that emerges as a priority alternative in the world economy and development, emphasizing sustainable development. In this bibliometric study, 534 documents from the Scopus database are analyzed, to visualize the trend of the eco-innovation study and its relationship with environmental sustainability. Bibliometric charts and maps are made for metadata analysis in the R Bibliometrix, Tableau and VOSviewer Software. This article discusses eco-innovation trends in relation to the main authors, magazines, organizations, and countries, as well as related keywords. It is concluded that the concept of eco-innovation is a key tool for sustainable development, which has an increasing trend and forecast; This study contributes to the knowledge of the researchers interested in this topic by clearly visualizing the areas of development of eco-innovations, at the same time it is recommended to expand the studies by field of application.
